UPDATED: Channel 4 Executive Andy Duncan is to step down from his job at Channel 4 before the end of the year, which will leave the broadcaster leaderless. This only asks the question who will be next to lead Chanel 4 into a ‘new era’.

‘Channel 4 is understood to have begun the process of easing out Andy Duncan, its chief executive of five years.

No agreement is believed to have been reached about the precise detail and timing of Duncan’s departure, but it is thought he is likely to leave before the end of the year.’

What could this mean for Channel 4’s future, it seems the channel is moving away from its past with the possible departure of Any Duncan and the cancellation of flagship show ‘Big Brother’. This to some is the movement of Channel 4 towards more intellectual, thought provoking programming. Could this endanger other channel 4 shows, with a possible new chairman to Channel4?
